Skorusina hills - Oravice

Skorusina is the highest hill of Skorusina hills wich is situated in it´s eastern parton the west from Oravice above Blatna valley. The walk from Teplica to Oravice wich takes abou 4 hour is suitable no only for brave and efficient tourists. Your reward will be the unbelievable view on the West High Tatras mountain or the relax in the thermal water in Oravice Spa.

Skiing

In the winter, it's impossible imagine Orava region without skiers and rich cover of snow. The whole area of Orava is full of ski-lifts for the beginners, but also for advanced and demanding skiers. Those, who have been more attracted to cross-country skiing, can use in addition to the natural terrain also cross country tracks, open to the public.

Biking

Orava offers a number of bicycle paths, where you can get to know not only the nature, but also the history and the culture of this region. There are several local but also inter-regional biking tracks, such as Kysucko-oravská cyklomagistrála that takes you through the Oravská Lesná to Námestovo. Or you can try Lučiansky circuit for physically proficient cyclists or bike through Roháčska Valley.

Rohace hills

Rohace is one of the youngest part of High Tatras. Rohace offers many posibilities for trekking, walking, mountaineering, cycling, downhill and cross-country skiing.

Orava Dam

Enjoy the boat trip on biggest dam in Slovakia, on the Orava dam, and visit the Slanica Island of Arts where you can see the exposure of traditional ornamental sculptures and paintings. The homeland exhibition called "From the history of flooded villages" is worth seeing if you want to see what it looked like here before the villages were flooded by the water.

Orava castle

Orava Castle is the most important herritage of the castle buildings in Slovakia. It was built on the 112m high rock in the village Oravsky Podzamok. It is one and only castle wich wasn´t captured by enemies. Today you can see here the exhibitions of Orava museum.

Thermal Pool Oravice

Visit our completely new tourist center situated between West Tatras and Skorusina, the thermal pool Oravice with healing water wich is open for you all the year round.

Juranova valley

One kilometer long deep valley is located in a canyon with a lot of small water falls and gaps. This valley is considered to be one of the nicest deep valley in Slovakia. In the past this canyon was used to transport the wood. There was one kilometer long bridge cross the canyon wich conected two banks of the valley. Today you can see only the ruins of it.

"White-wate rafting"

Enjoy your sailing on the wooden rafts listening to the "fujara music" and look around the river wich was used for traspot the wood from the forest and salt and stone from Poland. We start our rafting in Nizna village and finish between Podbiel and Kriva. The lenght of our trip is seven kilometers and it takes us about 2 hours.

Museum of the Orava village

Museum of the Orava village is located in a beautiful environment of Brestová. In this museum you will find wonderful wooden cottages, farmer-crafts homes with economic buildings and yards. You can also admire the historical wooden mill or run and a big scarce you find here, is the wooden church from Zábrež. The Museum offers to visitors many programs throughout the year. Particularly popular are the evening inputs into this treatment with non-traditional professional interpretation and sitting by the original folk's music.
